Veterans Club Monthly Board Meeting

MEETING called to order by Kevin at 10 a.m.

NEXT QUARTERLY MEETING: Will be held on Tuesday, October 15 th
at 4 p.m. We will have guest speakers from the UNG Gainesville and Dahlonega campuses. We will finalize plans for this at our next monthly board meeting.
Future Board Members: Joe Tellus and Mark Long
More discussion will follow at our next board meeting.

FOOD PANTRY: The board voted to give to the following at our next quarterly meeting:
Good News at Noon ($2000); American Legion Post 7 ($1500); Helping Hands ($1500). The board decided to give to the American Legion Post instead of VFW. The VFW is in a transition phase and we as a board feel the American Legion Post will use our funds directly to our veterans.

COAT DRIVE: Dave Dittmeier will lead. Tentative dates: November 4-7.
Once Dave has final approval from our HOA Board, we will post dates and see how we can help.

FINANCIAL REPORT: Balance $76,741.00

VETERANS IN NEED: We had to turn down 2 veterans. They either lived in another county or did not have the necessary paperwork.

DECEMBER holiday party - The board agreed not to have this. Many other activities are going on. The board moved to have some type of dinner at our January 2025 quarterly meeting.

OTHER DISCUSSIONS:
Amy is working on seeing if Porter Halyburton (POW guest speaker) will be able to come to Cresswind. Amy will keep us informed if there is a date for him to come back and speak to our community.
Kevin wanted to thank Carl and Jim for helping with the Cresswind event at the clubhouse on August 3. They met with lots of folks and were able to have folks join.
